The Interesting Thing About Blogging Is...

It's a lot like a journal.  You write about all these dreams and aspirations and changes and improvements you plan on making.  You immerse yourself in motivation and determination, the sudden clarity and desire to be a "better version" of yourself, and you proclaim that THIS IS IT to anyone and everyone that will listen!  This will be your best you yet! Who's up for a long term, permanent, life altering adventure!?!  I am!  You are well on your way down the road to unadulterated happiness and glorious satisfaction!  Out with the old and in with the new!  Your mind is boiling over, filled with positive thought after positive thought while you adopt the most triumphant attitude ever...

And then time passes and you revisit old entries/posts, only to find that everything you thought was going to change either didn't stick or didn't really change at all.  You are still making the same unhealthy, self-defeating, all around bad for you choices you made before, all the while trying to silence the deafening mental clobbering you are giving yourself for failing miserably at something you thought you were finally going to get a firm grip on, something you finally thought you were going to beat - LIFE.  Maybe you didn't work hard enough?  Maybe you didn't spend enough time and money?  Maybe you were lazy?  Maybe you didn't really put in the necessary effort?  Sigh...

I often wonder - when you continually try to change something that CAN actually change but never seems to change - should you continue to try? Or do you accept that this change is perhaps not meant to be?  When is it time to let go of the notion of that change? How do you know when you should say okay universe, let's give this whole "turning your life around" concept one last shot, really digging your heels in like never before, praying that this good ole college try will be a success, and taking the risk that it just might be another failed attempt, or when you should say okay universe, we are so done here, once and for all ending the seemingly NEVER ending battle because you are finally ready to come to terms with and wholeheartedly accept who and how you really are?
